From the origin of Adam & Eve, Security has been a concern for humans. In those days, man had to secure himself, his kith and kin form physical hazards. With the advent of Computers, data has become an important aspect of humans. So now a days, Security is attributed to data as well. The dangers to data come from every quarters viz. hackers, Viruses, Trojan horses and Worms. In this age of Internet, the communication between people is mostly through Internet. Most people think of computer security as trying to prevent things from going wrong. Security is much more than that. Security deals with Identification, authentication and access control. People send important information through Internet. They may be important business information or military secrets or even some ordinary mails. These information are constantly under threat due to Sniffers that read mails of all the users of the internet. So, Security has been a" continuing challenge" both to the users of Internet and the hackers. Provision of foolproof security is eluding us for a long time. This meet aims at discussing attempts to solve the unsolved mystery of Security by dealing with the intricacies of how to prevent users
